Serenity Garden Quilt
This quilt holds a very special place in my heart as it is the first one I ever made! I began this project during the early days of the pandemic, a time when the world seemed to pause. I found myself embracing the stillness and uncertainty with the patience found in working and crafting with my hands. Mornings were often spent in the garden of the house we were sitting, soaking in the sun, observing the geraniums and butterflies, and appreciating the smaller details of life.
The entire quilt was crafted outdoors that spring, either in the garden or on the top of Malibu’s cliffside among the wildflowers. The quilt back is pieced together using remnant fabrics from the front. It was machine pieced and hand quilted with Japanese Sashiko thread. The fabrics used are 100% cotton, with 100% natural cotton batting. The binding is hand-stitched and double-folded for extra durability.
This quilt has been gently washed, resulting in a beautiful crinkle texture.
MEASURES: 41” X 41”
